Everything we experience in this life is a perception. Some might say that none of it is real, but it is our very perception of it that makes it real for us.
One of the things that you will love about hypnosis is it’s ability to change your perception. We’ve all seen Derren Brown, or Anthony Jacquin, or Paul McKenna, or many other stage and screen hypnotists change someone’s perception of their surroundings to make them react in an unusual or funny way. Some of you may even have seen people chewing on an onion, convinced that they are eating the world’s juiciest, tastiest apple.
It’s a fact … our perception is our reality.
Now, if we accept that our perception is our reality … then to change our reality, we need to change our perceptions. So, what are our perceptions?
Our perception “is the organization, identification, and interpretation of sensory information in order to represent and understand the environment” according to Wikipedia. Sensory information is what we draw in from around us to be analysed by the mind to create the reality we experience around us.
How do we change that? Well, one method of doing so is by experiencing trance … the absolutely amazing ‘state’ that we enter during hypnosis, and (on average) enter naturally about eight times each day without realising it. Once we are in that state we can change, or transform, our thought processes. We are, in effect ‘forming’ new thought processes while in ‘trance’ … hence tranceforming!
Why are we called Tranceformed Perceptions?
So, what is tranceformation?
Transformation is change. Fixing something that is broken is change too … a change in status from ‘broken’ to ‘fixed’. We like to look on tranceformation as the way that we can ‘fix’ your problems. When we say that, of course, we don’t mean quick fix … like taking a pill to stop you feeling the pain, or putting a plaster over an infected, bleeding wound. We mean root cause analysis and permanent fixes wherever possible.
Once your perception has been permanently tranceformed, you will not see reality in the same way again. Once you see reality differently, your ability to repeat the same old habits, actions, mistakes is severely limited. That doesn’t mean you won’t make new one’s, just that your old problems will seem like a distant memory.
